The white dots come about as a result of damage to the fingernail as it grows. Basically, if you hit your finger on something it can cause a deformity (often called an ';air bubble';) in the fingernail. What it really represents is an area where the material that makes up the fingernail (called keratin) is not put together quite right (we say it is incompletely keratinized). This deformity stays in the nail until it grows out and gets cut off.
When you hit your finger on something, you can damage the part of your fingernail that is alive and growing. This doesn鈥檛 cause any permanent problems, but causes this white spot in your nail. The more you bump or hit your fingernail, the more white spots you will get. But whether you have one or many, they stay in your nail until it grows out.

Well it looks like nail polish but truly it's just liquid copper and gold that was brushed on ussually quite unevenly and clumpy. Because the gold was extremely hot it would burn the finger tips of the wearer. Therefore only the rich wore it. The gold showed the riches wealth and burned their finger tips proving they were unable to do any physical labor.

You can't. Stickers basically suck. The edges curl up after a top coat is applied. If a top coat is not applied they disappear in a day anyway. What i found is that it will work its way out itself, just keep drinking liquids, and possibly eat a bit of bread to help possibly push it down,
OR that it is infact tonsilitus/ inflamed tonsils/ sore throat [happened to me lol]
if it persists about 2 days later, then im afraid you should go to the doctor
It's possible that it only scratched you on the way down, and it's a slight inflamation that's irritating you. My Mum used to make me eat dry bread if I ever had anything stuck in my throat, to help it move along, you could try that...

It may be a scratch in your throat that is painful. If it does not go away by the time you wake up tomorrow, see the doctor.
get some bread, not too much and swallow, it will push the object down, its probably that's there is nothing there but what has happened its scratched the lining of your throat, making it feel like something is stuck there.
If you swallowed it then you'll digest it. I think that you'll be fine and the something in your throat may dissappear with drinking (water).
If it does persist go and see your doctor.

I already tried using the nasty tasting stuff and it doesn't work. I also tried leaving a rubber around oround my wrist and popping myself with it. Will my fingers eventually become deformed?How can I stop chewing on my nails and fingers?

I would recommend - putting hot pepper into clear nail polish so each time you start to bite your nails,not only will it taste nasty,but also HOT!! and hopefully will deture you from chewing! Good Luck! (It doesn't matter if colored polish of course unless your a guy)
Get a manicure, even if they are short from biting. Once you see how good they can look, that will deter you and you'll begin to enjoy long nails. It's just a habit, so caring how you and your nails look will do the trick.

When I decided it was time to stop, I carried a nail clipper around with me at all times, and everytime I had the urge to chew, I instead took out my clipper and did a little trimming. After a while, the desire just sort of went away. That was 40 years ago, and I still don't bite my nails.
Good luck -- this is a fairly benign, but nasty little habit, and I wish you a quick ';cure';!

i do it too, its horrible - i did stop once with a very simple trick, you stop biting one finger at a time, then the next week stop another till you have just one left - you can either stop that one too, or keep it as a binky lol, i started again recently though due to stress, but this is the method i will use to stop again

Many methods have been tried to remove ticks, many of which are not recommended. Applying a recently extinguished match or even a still lit match to the body of the tick will NOT cause the tick to back out and fall off. The mouthparts only let go when the tick has completed the meal. Also, applying fingernail polish will suffocate the tick but will not cause the tick to fall off.
The best recommendation to remove a tick is to use a tweezers or commercially available tick removal device and pull the tick off. Do not touch the tick since diseases can be transmitted. Consider wearing gloves when removing a tick.
With a tweezers or tick removal device, grab the tick as close to the head as possible. With steady, gentle pressure, pull the tick out of the skin. Frequently, pieces of skin may come off with the tick.
If the head of the tick remains in the skin, try to grab it and remove as much as possible. If you are unable to remove the entire head, don't fret. This is not life threatening. Your pet's immune system will try to dislodge the head by creating a site of infection or even a small abscess.
Usually no additional therapy is needed, but if you are concerned, contact your family veterinarian. There are surgical instruments that can be used to remove the remaining part of the tick.

Check to see if it affects the finish. If it does, cover the test spot with two coats of clear nail polish. If it doesn't--then you should be able to use it on the spill.

Using a Q-tip soaked in nail polish remover and being very careful so you don't take off much of the enamel on the tub or take away much of the fiberglass.
Put nail polish remover(origional strong one) on a piece of cloth %26amp; just erase the nail polish with it.
If that dosn't work use a strong paint remover(VARSOL) by dabbing it on a cloth %26amp; just erase the nail polish.
Be carefull when doing this,{if U use the paint remover} so wear a mask or something to protect your face %26amp; also make sure you're eyes are protected.

go look up the word black in the dictionary. there is such a negitive stigma attached to it, that there are always gonna be people who look down on it.
personally, i see nothing wrong with it. i realize there are people out there who wear it simply because it looks really good with some outfits. unfortunatly, you have always got the people who look only at the stereotypes of black.
parents however are always weird about kids fashion decisions. any time i come home with some new dress or pants or something, my mom always questions them because everything i wear is kinda dark and quite gothic. she has learned to deal with it better though because she knows im still a good person, doing volunteer work and what not, saying please and thank you and all that good stuff. the point im trying to make here is you know who you are, your parents should too. if you can wear the dark nail polish, but still act like the girl you always have been, then there should be nothing wrong with it.Why does people look down on black finger nail polish?

I would say no. Sorry to the 11 yr old :o( but she has all the time in the world to express herself with black -- while a kid, where's the colors at? Black suggests dark things - gothic a lot of times and most 11 year olds are not gothic - maybe just feels like it is cool or saw someone else has it on - One way would be no don't wear it and risk her always wearing it to defy you ( your daughter I am not sure??) and the other is let her try out her own self expression now and come to her own conclusions. Letting her express herself is one thing but strangers see little kids wearing things that make them look older - dark polish, makeup -- whatever it may be. So, even if you want to let her express herself, she has to understand doing that in some ways sometimes is actually dangerous.

I've had acrylic nails for 5 1/2 weeks, now the one on my little finger is coming away, but I can't get it off
I've tried loosening it with a sewing needle, but nothing is working for me and it's really hurting when I get it caught on something. I need some type of solvent but can't think of anything. If you want to take the nail off yourself, go to Sally Beauty Supply, buy a small bottle of pure acetone, and soak just that nail in the acetone. make sure not to spill it on anything or get it on any other nails because it will make the acrylic start to break down and weaken.
You definately need to remove the acrylic if it is lifting because any dirt and dust and water that gets in between the acrylic and your natural nail can cause infection/fungus!!!
