I am 58 years old (Male) and noticed the above strip from the bottom of the nail to the top. The line is 1.5 mm wide and it appeared just like that without an accedent or anything?Marks on finger nail (a dark brown strip) is related to heart problems?
Marks like that are said to be heart, liver or kidney, so maybe you should go see a Doctor.
But it could be an old injury, just showing up now, I have a line that runs the same direction, but it's not colored, in fact most of my nails have this. As we age, we lose oils that we had when we were younger and we notice stuff that was once not there.
